Jawa Wars

This is a project I jumped onto a few months ago. My good buddy Fred did the storyboards and character designs. Heather Barrons did our editing/compositing. Joanna Caseja worked on characters, animation, and is currently re-editing the sound.
I was the animation lead on this project. All of the scenes with a red asterisk in the lower right hand corner are scenes that I animated. It was a new style for me (usually I work in a hand-drawn style) but I really enjoyed this project. My team was excellent, Fred was a fantastic team leader, and just about everyone was willing to put in extra time and effort to make it look awesome.
One thing I'd like to mention - I was ONLY an animator on this project. I had nothing to do with the audio.

You're Crazy

My submission for the 11 second club September 2010 competition. Due to time restraints, I only had four days to work on this, but I'm really happy with how it came out.

I wanted to do a film noir type animation. And I REALLY enjoy animating fat people. So much secondary action. ^_^

Close to You

A project I did as a senior in film school. Originally I had planned to animate this in Flash, and I boarded it to be done in 2D, but when the opportunity came up to do a stop motion animation, I couldn't say no.
This project was very different from what I've done in the past, and of course it gave me a lot of problems just by virtue of being a different medium (What do you mean I can't squash and stretch my characters? What do you mean I can't sculpt a motion blur?) but it was a great learning experience, and I had fun. Twenty dollars worth of play-doh later, here you go.

Jawa Wars - Work in Progress

My most recent project - some friends and I are doing a Star Wars Spoof. Fred came up with the concept, and recruited me and three more people to animate, do backgrounds and effects.

This is a work in progress, without backgrounds or effects yet. During the scene where the jawa is dancing, there are supposed to be lasers firing at him.

Also, the slow-motion is on purpose. Visually, that will make much more sense once the effects and audio are on there.

It's a yeti!

This is a project I worked on with Jose Marin (our manager and audio guy) Jason Barnes (our creative director), Tiffany Dailey, Andrew Souvannerath, and Kristian Kalaustro. We had 11 weeks to do it. If we'd had more time, there are definitely things I would have gone back and changed, but I feel like, all in all, it was time well spent. I hate the motion blur, though. Ugh, what an awful motion blur.
I did the mountain backgrounds, and the animation from 1:02 to 1:20. I also did the keyframe animation on the yeti, but I wasn't too happy with the in-betweens. Mainly, the motion blur. Ah well, what're you gonna do?

Jump Jive n' Wail

You've all seen Louis Prima as an orangutan. Now you get to see him... AS A PENGUIN!!! I know, he doesn't go around stealing women. This was a project for my animal animation class. I was being an elitist diehard 2d'er again. My class has dubbed me the new Tenenberg. -_-

This took me two weeks, on top of my other projects. I think, due to time constraints, this turned out pretty darn good. As soon as Toon Boom comes in the mail, I'm gonna clean it up, and fix the framing on a couple shots. I think I worked harder on this than anything else I've done yet, and I think I enjoyed it the most.

Nosey Paul

This is the pencil test of the first scene I've finished on Nosey Paul. It's just rough right now, But I have three months to finish it and clean it up. Wish me luck!
